NASF SUR/FIN® Conference
The Technology Advisory Committee (TAC) was excited to welcome an exceptional pool of speakers to SUR/FIN 2017, June 19-21 in Atlanta. The conference sessions this year were some of the best informative sessions ever for attendees. We are proud to have had 14 session tracks. In addition to the core topics on Automotive, Aerospace & Defense, and Advances in Surface Finishing, we introduced some new track sessions, including topics on Research Sustainability, Surface Modification Techniques, Technical Response to REACH, and Techniques or Technologies that Improve Productivity or Increase Performance.
The TAC went through an extensive voting selection process, which provided many challenges. Normally, our session schedule provides for 72 presentations. By the submission deadline, we had received 111 abstract submissions, making the selection process more difficult. Thank you!
The TAC worked with the NASF team to expand the session schedule to include 84 presentations. However, this still required the elimination of 27 abstracts, which is not taken lightly by TAC members. It’s unfortunate that these abstract submissions cannot be utilized, but we encourage people not selected in 2017 to consider submitting for SUR/FIN 2018 in Cleveland, Ohio. The strength of the program resides in your submissions, and we are grateful for your involvement.
We look forward to seeing you in Cleveland in 2018 for another great selection of presentations!
