Keynote Speaker Announced
Jim Blass of Caterpillar to present Tuesday
National Association for Surface Finishing officials have announced J.R. (Jim) Blass, Director for Product Validation and Global Technology for Caterpillar, as a Keynote Speaker for the 2013 NASF SUR/FIN Manufacturing & Technology Tradeshow & Conference.
"Based on NASF's Surface Technology Initiative, SUR/FIN conference officials felt it would be an ideal time to focus on the associations' efforts toward advancing a sustainable future for the surface finishing industry by presenting companies who have successfully met this challenge. We're pleased to have him join us and welcome him to our conference," stated NASF President, Rick Delawder.
Mr. Blass is responsible for Global Product Validation including vehicle, engine, drivetrain, sound, dynamic, structural, and certifications. Additional responsibilities include oversight of the company's product proving grounds, engines development testing, and component development testing and manufacturing and metrology development.

Preliminary Agenda Announced
Agenda for 95th Annual SUR/FIN Manufacturing & Technology Tradeshow & Conference Includes More Than 67 Speakers and 12 Highly Informative Sessions
"Attendees of the 95th annual SUR/FIN conference will gain critically important information about the surface finishing industry," said Rick Delawder, NASF Board President. "This year we had an overwhelming number of exhibit requests coupled with some outstanding speaker submissions. The quality of submissions, combined with the feedback from last year’s attendees, that included companies representing industries such as Automotive, Aerospace, Medical, Military/Defense and more, is helping to shape this conference’s agenda into one of the most current and relevant conferences we’ve ever produced."
The NASF’s SUR/FIN is expected to draw more than 1,200 attendees and will include national and international surface finishing suppliers and producers during the course of the event, that will discuss issues categorized into 12 sessions:

Papers based on presentations at the meeting may be published on the SUR/FIN Website and in other publications sponsored by the National Association for Surface Finishing.
The primary author/presenter of the accepted paper/presentation will receive free registration to the conference. This complimentary registration includes access to all conference proceedings, exhibit floor, all conference sessions, receptions and show directory. Only one person shall receive the complimentary registration offered per paper/presentation.
Abstracts should be as complete and concise as possible and will be subject to editing by the TAC for publication. If your abstract is edited in any way, you will be notified.
